Menstruation – Not Stigma, But Strength

Founded in 2018, Humjoli Foundation is a Pune-based NGO committed to creating awareness about menstrual health and hygiene. With the powerful tagline ‘Periods – Sharm Nahi, Shamta Hai’, Humjoli is working tirelessly to spread accurate information, eliminate period poverty, and break down the myths and taboos around menstruation.
Beyond menstrual health, we support adolescent girls in navigating puberty and mental health challenges, and we work with women on topics like menstrual irregularities, menopause, and general health concerns. We believe menstruation is a human issue—not just a women’s issue—which is why we include tailored programs for men and schoolboys to foster greater understanding and empathy.
In addition to working with low-income communities, Humjoli Foundation also partners with corporations to provide sessions for employees. These sessions introduce sustainable menstrual products like menstrual cups, tampons, and reusable cloth pads, address common misconceptions about menstruation, and offer tips for smoother periods and menopause management.

Periods – Sharm Nahi, Shamta Hai

We empower and equip young girls, women and men with the right knowledge of this natural and normal bodily process, called Period.

We strongly believe that every menstruator has the right to manage her menstrual health with dignity and without barriers. We are committed to breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation and ensuring access to proper menstrual hygiene management for all.
