Period Product Distribution

Using clean and hygienic-sanitary products during her period is every women’s right.

And Humjoli strives hard to fulfill this basic need.

With the help of donations made by people and pads received by some sanitary napkin manufacturing units, Humjoli is able to provide hygienic-sanitary products to young girls and women who can’t afford them otherwise.

Period Hygiene Kit

To help girls and women have a safe and hygienic period, we have designed our own signature period hygiene kits.
We don’t believe in distributing mere packets of sanitary pads. We make sure our distribution takes care of 360-degree requirements of products that a girl/woman would need during her period.

Our Period Hygiene Kits contain

  • Sanitary pads
  • Enough number of paper disposal bags (to be used for proper disposal of used pads)
  • Undergarments
  • Soap
  • Face mask
  • Period book

We provide safe and hygienic-sanitary products to girls and women for a minimum of 3 to 6 months or up to 1 year.

You too can sponsor these hygiene kits for a few girls. To make a donation, click here.

Why We Promote Pad Donation?

Several people come up to us or point out the ill effects of regular, disposable sanitary pads on the environment. And suggest curbing the usage of this non-environment friendly way of the sanitary hygiene management.

While we love to encourage the use of sustainable products such as menstrual cups or reusable cloth pads, but with experience, we have noticed that these products need maintenance and are not feasible in the low-income communities by large.

In most of the slums or similar areas, having access to enough water to soak and wash reusable cloth pad well is extremely challenging. After washing, drying them in direct sunlight for a good 3-4 hours is also not viable mostly. Similarly, sterilization of menstrual cups needs hot, boiling water and a separate container. Most women of the community would not appreciate the practice of sterilizing the menstrual cup on their kitchen stove or gas (yes, that is a sad but true state of affairs in our society!)

Hence, in this scenario for low-income group women, our primary aim is to provide them with clean, hygienic, and sterilized sanitary products. Saving them from various infections caused due to usage of unhygienic means of sanitary products is of prime and utmost importance.
